Like so many other drawings I post on DA, this isn't really "done," so much as it's "as far as I feel like taking it."

My intent was to re-invent the characters in a way that paid homage Lewis Carroll and John Tenniel's characters. I also had Da Vinci's "Last Supper" in mind which I admire for its design, and not for the Dan Brown novel.

I think Alice has become pop-cultured to death lately (and soon even more, with Tim Burton's movie). The modern Alice has lost her innocence and everyone seems to be going in either "Goth" or "Anime" directions with her and her crew.

I also don't see a lot of people doing anything really interesting with the Mad Hatter's hat. That has always mystified me, since the hat seems the easiest target (to me) for showing off the character and maybe making for an interesting picture.

This isn't as far as this piece could go, but it's a reasonable exhibition of the ideas I wanted it to contain- a nice place to stop. I hope you will take a minute, look closely, and maybe even enjoy it.
