It's a radical departure for me to do something that is friendly and saturated and modern. But here it is in living color. This has been the most fun I've had working on a drawing in some time.
I did this for a friend I've grown closer to recently that has made me see a lot of great things in life and been a huge encouragement to me in almost every way. A lot of this is a reflection of her interests mixed with imagery I got from listening to certain songs combined with nostolgia for hokey old kids records. I hope she likes it.
If not, and if you don't (you may not), it serves as a marker and a reminder in my own life, and I'm comfortable with liking this piece just for the sentimentality it brings.
That said, I hope you do like it.
Thanks to everyone who wrote in my "Tired of the Dark" journal, I've been slacking off in my replies, but I appreciate all the responses and encouragement. Except from Alex Rosales, but she does her part every day at work, so whatever.
This is awesome! I must say, I'm listening to Rough Gem right now--it's a perfect soundtrack! Like I said on FB, I'd love to give a copy of this to my nephew.

As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
